Iran, Pakistan, Borneo and Japan – these are just some of the places I have journeyed to, including all over my home country - New Zealand.  I love meeting people, tasting the local foods, admiring different plants and animals, and learning to say “hello” and “thank you” (in the right language) wherever I am in the world.

I live on the shores of the Manukau harbour, with TH (the husband) and a cat with wild, green eyes.  I’ve worked in logistics, as well as sales and marketing, and am now a freelance writer who travels.  I can drive anything, including a motorbike and will eat almost anything.  I was almost arrested in USA (something to do with a sub-machine gun), nearly trampled to death by a Rhino in Nepal, have conquered the summit of Mt Egmont/Taranaki and I quietly immerse myself in Tai Chi for some daily time-out.  I also know how to milk a cow, which may come in handy one day.

I believe that everyday can be an adventure, even just stepping outside your own door.  There are always places to go, new activities to try, and favourites to go back to.  Some of these will be as close as the next street, and others will be in far away, exotic places. Travel can be anything you want it to be and broadening your horizons can cost at lot, or next to nothing.

Remember that life is too short to never try anything new - even if only new flavours of ice cream.
